George Michael Ready For American Tour

George Michael is ready for his first tour of the United States and Canada in 17 years, opening a multi-city "25 Live" tour in San Diego on June 17. The tour is scheduled to wrap in Sunrise, Fla., on Aug. 3.

Other stops include Atlanta, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Boston, Toronto and Montreal.

Michael sang in the '80s pop group Wham! before embarking on a successful solo career.

He released his greatest-hits album "Twenty Five" in the U.S. on April 1.

Michael's summer arena tour of the U.S. will be his last, because he no longer wants to play shows to large audiences.

He admits he is ready to scale down the size of his concerts and play more intimate venues in future.

He says, "I don't want to do anything on this scale again. No more stadiums. I'd like to be the Tony Bennett for my generation.

"It's the end of a certain era, and I'm not sure how much I really want to be a part of what's next. So, it's a kind of a way of saying thank you to everybody before I move on."

Johnny Depp To Marry

Johnny Depp is set to marry longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis on June 14.

The couple, who have been together for over 10 years and have two children, have always insisted they don't feel the need to legalize their relationship, but French singer Paradis is now eager to marry.

A source close to the couple is quoted as claiming: "Vanessa recently told Johnny that she would love to have a wedding. Johnny loves Vanessa very much, and he said if that's what would make her happy, then he would marry her."
Depp, who recently said the couple were "for all intents and purposes married" is planning to have the ceremony in Georgia to make it convenient for his family who live in Florida.

The source added, "The children are really excited about it. Actually, the whole family is excited. They're going to send out invitations in a few weeks."

O.J. Simpson has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and armed robbery in relation to a sports memorabilia robbery in Las Vegas in September. Simpson and his two accomplices, Clarence Stewart and Charles Ehrlich, pleaded their innocence at the start of their criminal trial. Simpson is alleged to have stormed into collector Alfred Beardsley's hotel suite at the Palace Station in Las Vegas along with Five associates, and removed memorabilia items Simpson maintains were stolen from a storage facility. Three other co-defendants agreed to testify against Simpson as part of a plea agreement; Stewart, Ehrlich and Simpson face life imprisonment if found guilty. Beardsley and an associate claim guns were pulled during the stand-off, but the collector told the preliminary hearing earlier this month that Simpson wasn't one of the men brandishing a weapon.

Ian McKellen has hit out at Hollywood movie producers for encouraging homosexual actors to remain 'in the closet'. McKellen, who revealed he was gay in 1988, has in the past criticized actors for not 'coming out'. But he now blames the forces behind the film industry for pressuring gay actors to keep their sexuality a secret. McKellen says, "With all that liberal attitude in Hollywood, you have a local industry which is saying to local people who live in the area, 'When you come to work, you are not gay.' And I think to myself, 'Can people whose minds work like that make good films? And if at the heart of Hollywood there is that lie, how many other lies are there?'" "And it's the producers who have this problem. God knows what sort of people they are, who think that it's impossible for you and me to fancy the same person. Well, what dull lives they must have."

Pete Doherty faces jail if he doesn't undergo rehab to tackle his addiction to drugs. He pleaded guilty to possessing quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and ketamine, as well as to two drunk driving offenses. Judge Davinder Lachhar told Doherty he would only avoid jail on the condition he entered rehab before he is due to be sentenced. Judge Lachhar said "If you go to this place to have detox and take advantage of it then we will see what sentence is appropriate when you next come. But if you do not, I can tell you now that you will go into custody." Speaking to reporters outside court, Doherty vowed to abide by the ruling, saying, "I have got no choice, have I? It's rehab or jail. I was going to rehab anyway to be honest with you, this is just a little push."

Lane Garrison Gets Prison Time

Former 'Prison Break' actor Lane Garrison could have faced nearly seven years in prison for an accident which left a 17-year-old high school student dead. Garrison was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed a teenager last December. Garrison was driving a 2001 Land Rover on Dec. 2 when he lost control and rammed a tree. The crash killed his passenger Vahagn Setian, 17, a Beverly Hills High School student. Two 15-year-old girls in the car survived. He pleaded guilty in May to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher and a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to a minor.

Jason Wahler's string of arrests have finally caught-up with him. He began serving a 30-day Seattle prison sentence for his April arrest on charges of assault and underage drinking. "Jason is taking full responsibility for his previous actions," Wahler's publicist Siri Gaber said in a statement. Wahler was arrested April 8 in Seattle, Washington and booked on charges of assault and criminal trespassing. According to the incident report, officers responded to a disturbance at a Marriott hotel where a security guard claimed two guests had been wrestling in the lobby. After issuing warnings to stop, the guard reportedly accused Wahler of punching him in the mouth before he was restrained by a friend. Wahler then allegedly fled the hotel, only to return "a short time later" when police found him passed out in a third-floor hallway "smelling strongly of alcohol." "The 30-day sentence was handed to Wahler when he plead guilty to charges of assault and a minor exhibiting signs of intoxication," Seattle City Attorney's Office spokeswoman Ruth Bowman said. Wahler had also originally been charged with criminal trespassing, however that charge was dropped. According to Bowman, Wahler "could get out in 20 days for good behavior." While he was not so lucky this time around, Wahler had already side-stepped an earlier jail stint. Last September, Wahler reportedly punched a tow-truck driver as well as a Los Angeles city employee and was accused of using racial slurs against the victims. He plead no contest to one count of battery and received a two-month jail sentence and was also required to attend a one-day program at the Museum of Tolerance. Wahler was due to begin serving his sentence in early May, but that was delayed by a judge due to a stint in rehab which he completed over the summer. Wahler also completed community service at a Laguna-area church mission; went to four Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week; attended anger-management counseling; and also spoke at local high schools, warning students about the dangers of drinking irresponsibly and disobeying the law. "He has been through rehabilitation, done community service and has been attending AA meetings," Gaber said in the statement. "He would like to be an example to young people to make them realize that there are consequences for bad behavior."

Kiefer Sutherland, already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence in a case the city attorney's office said could put him in jail for more than a year. "Sutherland was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above," said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez. "If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days,"Velasquez said. "We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation," Velasquez added. If found guilty of violating probation, Sutherland could be sentenced to an additional six months. Sutherland remains free on $25,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 16. "Because he's been charged with a misdemeanor, Sutherland won't have to appear in court for his arraignment unless the judge specifically orders him to be there," Velasquez said. Police said they stopped Sutherland shortly after 1 a.m. when they saw him make an illegal U-turn. He was arrested after failing a field sobriety test. Authorities haven't disclosed his blood-alcohol level except to say it was .08 or above, exceeding California’s legal limit. Sutherland was also arrested for DUI in 2004, and in November of that year he pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count. He was sentenced to Five years probation, 50 hours of community service and was ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program.

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson pleaded guilty to charges of drug possession and driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop last year as he was leaving a nightclub. Tyson quietly acknowledged to a judge that he had cocaine and was impaired when he was stopped for driving erratically in Scottsdale, Arizona on Dec. 29. He pleaded guilty to a single Felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor DUI count and faces up to four years and three months in prison when he is sentenced Nov. 19. A felony charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a second misdemeanor DUI charge were dropped, according to the terms of a plea agreement. Defense lawyer David Chesnoff said Tyson has been clean and sober for eight months. "It's obvious this was a crime he was committing against himself," Chesnoff said. Police stopped Tyson after he had spent the evening at the Scottsdale club. An officer said he saw Tyson wiping a white substance off the dashboard of his black BMW, and that his speech was slurred. Authorities said they found bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and in his car. Tyson told officers later that he used cocaine "whenever I can get my hands on it," and that he preferred to smoke it in Marlboro cigarettes with the tobacco pulled out, according to court documents. He also told police that he used marijuana that day and was taking the antidepressant Zoloft, the documents state. Since his arrest, Tyson checked himself into an in-patient treatment program for what his lawyer called "various addictions." Defense lawyer David Chesnoff had said previously that he had try to keep the boxer out of prison.

George Clooney and girlfriend, Sarah Larson were injured when their motorcycle collided with a car on a narrow road in New Jersey, across the Hudson River from New York City. Clooney suffered a broken rib and scrapes while Larson broke her foot in the collision. "The two were treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen and released," Clooney's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said. "He's doing fine," Rosenfield said. "He has a broken rib, it's very painful and it'll take a long time to heal." "Clooney and Larson were traveling north and sped up to pass on the right of a vehicle that was reportedly preparing to make a right turn," said Weehawken police Sgt. Sean Kelly. "Both were wearing helmets." "It wasn't known whether the other driver, whose identity was not immediately released, used a turn signal," Kelly said. The accident was under investigation. Rosenfield said the accident occurred when the vehicle's driver signaled a left-hand turn, but turned right and struck Clooney's motorcycle. "The car signaled left. George was riding to the right. The driver decided to make an abrupt right turn and clipped George," he said. Clooney was in the New York area filming a new movie. Rosenfield said, "Clooney's recovery shouldn't interrupt the production's schedule."

There is still no verdict in the murder case against record producer Phil Spector. Spector's wife, had Rachelle sparred with the judge over a gag order and Spector himself publicly denied he had criticized the judge and jury pool. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler had sent the jurors into deliberations after asking if any had heard or seen any news reports that could affect their discussions. Spector is charged with second-degree murder in the death of actress Lana Clarkson, who was shot through the mouth after going home with Spector from a nightclub on Feb. 3, 2003. He faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted. Deliberations for the jury of nine men and three women began after Five months of testimony and continue with no verdict. Prosecutors sought to show during the trial that Spector had a history of threatening women. The defense contended Clarkson killed herself. Just before sending the case to the jury, Fidler slapped a gag order on Spector and his wife. Fidler said Rachelle Spector had sent e-mails to reporters pointing out a TV interview she had given, despite the fact that Fidler had warned her against such activity. Fidler also admonished Spector and Clarkson's family not to speak to the press during deliberations.

Owen Wilson has released a statement asking for privacy after he was hospitalized Sunday. Wilson was taken by ambulance from his home in Santa Monica, California to the emergency room at Los Angeles' St. John's Hospital at midday on Sunday. The Santa Monica Police issued a statement: "On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated." Citing medical privacy laws, they would not release any additional information, nor would they comment on why Wilson was transported. Tabloids are reporting that Wilson tried to kill himself. Sources claim he cut his wrists and took a number of pills, and was discovered by a family member, who alerted authorities. But Wilson makes no mention of the controversy in his statement. He says, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." His family was seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Wilson was reportedly transfered to, on Sunday night. A hospital spokesman reports Wilson is in a "good condition."

Kid Rock has been ordered by Las Vegas police to appear in court next month following his attack on Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards. Rock was ejected from the VMA ceremony in front of thousands of fans after punching Lee. Although neither star was arrested at the time of the incident, both were later questioned by local authorities with Rock receiving a citation for the assault. A spokesman for the Las Vegas Police Department says, "A little after 8:00pm, we received a call that a disturbance had occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards. We had a lot of officers working in and around the awards so they got there fairly quickly. We determined that the altercation was between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. After our investigation, Kid Rock did receive a citation for misdemeanor battery. Everyone involved was interviewed." Rock will appear in court in the next three to Five weeks, where he faces a maximum sentence of six months behind bars. Both Lee and Kid Rock have been married to Pamela Anderson, but it is unclear whether she was the cause of the fight.

Luciano Pavarotti, whose grand showmanship made him one of opera's most beloved tenors, has died. He was 71. Pavarotti had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and underwent further treatment as recent as two weeks ago. Isaiah Washington is upset over a TV interview in which he seemed to poke fun at former 'Grey's Anatomy' co-star Patrick Dempsey for not sticking up for him in the aftermath of his gay slur scandal. Washington was arguing with Dempsey on the set of the show last year when he uttered the slur, which sparked a major controversy. The comment led to co-star T.R. Knight 'coming out' as a gay man, but Washington has always maintained the slur wasn't directed at Knight. In a TV interview on 'Access Hollywood,' host Billy Bush asked Washington if he felt Dempsey should have spoken up for him. Bush asked, "Dempsey, it seems to me, could've cleared everything up by standing up and saying one thing, 'Isaiah never said that to T.R., I was there.' If he's a friend, how could he not do that?" She is allegedly worried Doherty could resort to selling the remaing footage for money after he suffered a relapse in his efforts to kick his heroin habit. John Travolta is suing the owners of the airport outside his exclusive "fly-in" community, claiming they lied to the Federal Aviation Administration to keep him from landing his Boeing 707 there. In the federal lawsuit, Travolta claims Greystone Airport owners James and Christine Garemore falsely changed the airport master record in 2006 to indicate that it could not support large airplanes. Travolta has a home at the Jumbolair Aviation Estates in Ocala, Florida and wanted to fly his Boeing 707 there. The lawsuit is seeking an injunction requiring the Garemores to immediately withdraw the 2006 report and authorize flights with the airport master record as it existed before. It also seeks to nullify the report because of false or misleading information to the FAA and to prohibit "future baseless filings." "The runway is not suitable for heavy aircraft. It is cracking and breaking," James Garemore said. "They are bringing this lawsuit against me, and all I was doing was trying to maintain safety here." Michael J. McDermott, Travolta's attorney, said Garemore's comments about the runway not being safe for large airplanes is incorrect. "It's spin in order to cover his butt because he knows that he is in big trouble for doing what he did, and we intend to establish that," McDermott said. Travolta built an $8 million home in Ocala and has continually used the runway without incident, the lawsuit said. It also claims Travolta was assured he would be able to use the airport.

Divorce Finalized

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will officially divorce today. Spears' lawyer, Laura Wasser, and Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, went to court with the final papers to get a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to sign-off on the settlement, making the divorce final. Wasser will make a motion to keep the custody and spousal support orders secret. Federline is reportedly receiving $15,000 a month from Spears for child support. He's also reportedly getting $20,000 a month in spousal support, but that's based on the prenup, and it appears the alimony payments will come to an end in November. As for custody arrangement for the couple's two sons, it will stay at 50/50. Neither Spears nor Federline are happy with the custody arrangement, and either of them can go back to court and ask for a change. Federline won't even speak to Spears, so they will probably be back in court asking the judge to make decisions about child rearing. There are reports that Federline may go to court soon to get full custody. Sources say he has signed-off on the 50/50 custody split. He may not be happy, but it doesn't seem he's ready for all-out war either.

Garrison's Evaluation

Lane Garrison, who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving in a crash that killed a teenage passenger, was ordered to undergo a 90-day evaluation to help a judge decide his sentence. Garrison will undergo a "diagnostic" by parole officers and psychologists in prison before returning for an Oct. 31 appearance before Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox. Garrison was driving a 2001 Land Rover on Dec. 2 when he lost control and rammed a tree. The crash killed Vahagn Setian, a Beverly Hills High School student. Two other passengers, both 15-year-old girls, survived. They testified at the sentencing hearing. Garrison had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit and was under the influence of cocaine, according to the police report. Garrison pleaded guilty in May to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher, and a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to a minor. Garrison faces a maximum sentence of six years, eight months in prison. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office has asked for a sentence of four years and eight months. Garrison had been free on $100,000 bail but was taken into custody after the hearing.

Kali Bowyer, the Woman alleging comic Chris Rock is the father of her teenage son is refusing to give up her paternity fight, despite a negative first DNA test. Rock and his wife Malaak released a statement, proclaiming victory in the legal battle and criticizing Bowyer for claiming Rock was the father. But Bower insists the proceedings are far from over. Bowyer says, "We are taking a second test, due to Rock's history of past paternity tests." Bowyer claims she is one of a handful of women who have brought paternity cases against Rock, and one European woman is still charging him with fathering her child, even though she lost her case in court. Bowyer also denies claims Rock made in his statement that she took money for selling her story to the tabloids earlier this year. She says, "No one made money from selling stories to the tabloids." Bowyer is upset that Rock and his wife went public with the findings of the first DNA test while there was a court order in place instructing both parties not to discuss the case with the media. Bowyer says, "There is a protective order regarding the results, so I will let my lawyers deal with the current situation. As for the second DNA test, Chris, myself and our lawyers have to meet for mediation within 20 days. If he agrees to take the DNA test then, I see him do it and it comes back negative, I'll move on." Bowyer claims she never planned to go public with her 10-year-old paternity battle but is desperate to get to the bottom of her 13-year-old son's health problems and feels sure the medical history of the boy's father will help her to get the answers she needs. She says, "I never said Chris Rock is 100 per cent the father of my child, but, due to the dates and the information I received from doctors when my son was born, I'm 99 per cent sure Chris Rock is the father. He looks exactly like Chris' brother Tony, it's a very distinctive resemblance."

A Mexican judge has ruled to close the criminal case against bounty hunter and TV reality star Duane 'Dog' Chapman, but state prosecutors have appealed the decision, officials said. In the ruling, Judge Jose Alberto Montes said the statute of limitations has expired on the case, said Guillermo Diaz, assistant prosecutor in Puerto Vallarta. Chapman was arrested by U.S. authorities on a Mexican warrant stemming from his 2003 capture of fugitive convicted rapist and Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. State prosecutors want to continue pursuing Mexico's request to have Chapman extradited, Diaz said. The courts are expected to rule on prosecutors' appeal in coming months. Chapman, who stars in the A&E television Hawaii-based show 'Dog the Bounty Hunter,' expressed relief at Montes' decision. "The weight has been lifted off my chest," he said. "Viva la Mexico!"

Valencia Foster, Tomeka Foster's half-sister claimed, "Tameka is giving Usher a big-time snow job." Valencia claims Tomeka had a romance with a drug dealer, who was "executed" by a rival gang. At a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court, plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Cardenas, testified that he didn't see bruises on the face of Sizemore's former girlfriend and former Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss, days after she claimed he punched her in the jaw at a Beverly Hills hotel. "There was no sign of any trauma, bruising or anything like that?" Fay Arfa, Sizemore's attorney, asked Dr.Cardenas. "I did not notice anything like that," said Cardenas, who said he had a conversation with Sizemore and Fleiss around 2 a.m. April 13, 2003, about Five days after the assault. Cardenas said he was called to treat Sizemore for a cut and was introduced to Fleiss. The three had a brief conversation after he was done treating Sizemore, he said. "You saw their interaction together and it seemed like they were getting along?" Arfa asked him. "Yes," Cardenas said. Deputy District Attorney Robert Cha said metabolism or treatment might have reduced Fleiss' swollen face by the time the doctor saw her. He also suggested Fleiss might have used "cover-up items" to conceal the injuries. Sizemore is currently serving a 16-month prison term for violating probation in a Los Angeles methamphetamine case and faces another six years behind bars if convicted on other drug-related charges. He did not attend the hearing.
