Linus Roache, who co-starred in the short-lived 'Kidnapped' last season, will play the new lead prosecutor, moving into Jack McCoy's old office. McCoy, played by Sam Waterson, has moved into the role of district attorney for Manhattan, replacing Arthur Branch, who was portrayed by possible Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson, who left the show. "I've known Linus' work for several years," said Dick Wolf, 'Law & Order' executive producer. "He is an actor who totally gets inside his roles. I think he and Sam are going to raise the bar and add intellect and passion in the back half of the show." Fellow 'Kidnapped' cast member Jeremy Sisto is headed for the detective squad on 'Law & Order,' joining the cast as the new partner for homicide detective Ed Green, played by Jesse L. Martin. Moss' Sex Tape
Supermodel Kate Moss is desperate for ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty to return two videotapes documenting the former couple's daily activities, because she doesn't want to be humiliated if they end up on the internet. The couple made eight video diaries during their turbulent relationship. After their split, Moss found six of the tapes but is concerned that Doherty, who is a self-confessed drug addict, could sell the missing two. Moss reportedly dumped Doherty earlier this month and is said to be anxious about the whereabouts of the missing video diaries, fearing they could fall into the wrong hands and end up on the internet. She and Doherty regularly took a video camera with them on their travels and some of the clips have already been posted on the web by the couple before they separated. One short video featured the pair singing together and Doherty serenading a scantily-clad Moss. The source added: "When those clips came on the net, Kate could obviously decide with Pete what was going to be made public. Now, with the remaining two tapes, she has no say." She is allegedly worried Doherty could resort to selling the remaing footage for money after he suffered a relapse in his efforts to kick his heroin habit. A source claims, "There are still some bits and pieces floating about of Pete with Kate. She has got rid of most of it. Six out of eight tapes have been destroyed. But she wanted to bury the lot before he could humiliate her by selling them or putting them on the internet. Pete could do what he wants with them." Referring to the video clips previously posted online, the source adds, "If they made that public, just think what could be on the tapes they held back." See more Kate Moss Pete Doherty |
Travolta Sues
John Travolta is suing the owners of the airport outside his exclusive "fly-in" community, claiming they lied to the Federal Aviation Administration to keep him from landing his Boeing 707 there. In the federal lawsuit, Travolta claims Greystone Airport owners James and Christine Garemore falsely changed the airport master record in 2006 to indicate that it could not support large airplanes. Travolta has a home at the Jumbolair Aviation Estates in Ocala, Florida and wanted to fly his Boeing 707 there. The lawsuit is seeking an injunction requiring the Garemores to immediately withdraw the 2006 report and authorize flights with the airport master record as it existed before. It also seeks to nullify the report because of false or misleading information to the FAA and to prohibit "future baseless filings." "The runway is not suitable for heavy aircraft. It is cracking and breaking," James Garemore said. "They are bringing this lawsuit against me, and all I was doing was trying to maintain safety here." Michael J. McDermott, Travolta's attorney, said Garemore's comments about the runway not being safe for large airplanes is incorrect. "It's spin in order to cover his butt because he knows that he is in big trouble for doing what he did, and we intend to establish that," McDermott said. Travolta built an $8 million home in Ocala and has continually used the runway without incident, the lawsuit said. It also claims Travolta was assured he would be able to use the airport. Dempsey Is To Blame
Isaiah Washington is upset over a TV interview in which he seemed to poke fun at former 'Grey's Anatomy' co-star Patrick Dempsey for not sticking up for him in the aftermath of his gay slur scandal. Washington was arguing with Dempsey on the set of the show last year when he uttered the slur, which sparked a major controversy. The comment led to co-star T.R. Knight 'coming out' as a gay man, but Washington has always maintained the slur wasn't directed at Knight. In a TV interview on 'Access Hollywood,' host Billy Bush asked Washington if he felt Dempsey should have spoken up for him. Bush asked, "Dempsey, it seems to me, could've cleared everything up by standing up and saying one thing, 'Isaiah never said that to T.R., I was there.' If he's a friend, how could he not do that?" Washington replied, "Nice observation Billy. He protects himself well. He did what he felt he needed to do and remained silent." Now, Washington, who was fired from the show earlier this summer, is upset with the way the TV interview was edited, making it look as if he blames Dempsey for his firing. Bush says, "My only regret is that due to time on our show, in the edited interview, we went straight to the outrage and it came off as if I was berating Patrick." "Not the case. I should have fought for the extra time. I am quite sure that Isaiah is difficult on the set, a perfectionist that compares himself to others. It's divisive, but frankly, this town has plenty of difficult actors. The legends are there. He means well." See more Patrick Dempsey Isaiah Washington T.R. Knight |
Moynahan Has Son
Bridget Moynahan and ex-boyfriend, New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady are new parents. Moynahan and Brady split up late last year after a three-year relationship. Moynahan gave birth to the baby in Los Angeles, Moynahan's publicist Christina Papadapoulos said in a statement. "Both mother and baby are doing well," she said. Brady's whereabouts weren't known. He wasn't on the field or sidelines for the first 15 minutes of practice and Patriots spokesman Stacey James said he didn't know when Brady would rejoin the team. Brady had said earlier this week that he would like a few days off for the birth of his first child, calling the event "a very joyous, happy situation." It was unknown if he arrived before the baby was born. See more Bridget Moynahan Tom Brady |
David Beckham Makes Debut
David Beckham made his hotly-anticipated debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in front of thousands of fans and a host of Hollywood stars. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria, and Jennifer Love Hewitt were among the sell-out crowd cheering on Beckham at the Home Depot Center Stadium. His wife Victoria was also in the stands along with the couple's three sons. Although Beckham, who has signed a multi-million dollar Five-year contract with the club, only made it onto the pitch for the final 12 minutes of the match due to an ankle injury, he received an overwhelming reception. The 27,000 fans gave him a standing ovation as he came on and cheered and applauded his every move and touch of the ball. The day after the debut, the Beckham's attended a "Welcome to Hollywood" party thrown by good friends Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes and Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The invitation-only event was held for over 600 guests at the Geffen Contemporary museum, which is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Los Angeles. Hollywood Rehab Patients
Daniel Baldwin, a former drug addict himself, has hit out at celebrity rehab clinics, insisting they are too soft on troubled stars. Baldwin has spent time in rehab for cocaine addiction, and is alarmed at the freedom recent rehab patients Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears have enjoyed. Speaking on 'Larry King Live' after Lohan's arrest for DUI, just ten days after she left Malibu, California's Promises Center, Baldwin says, "You see Britney is in there. She goes and leaves for a few hours to go have lunch or whatever it is. And then there's Lindsay who goes to work out for a few hours and she comes back. All the while, you can use your Blackberry while you're in there. I think it is bogus. I think Hollywood rehabs have a bad name for a good reason. They're not that good." "Promises has shown itself to have a very poor track record, in my opinion, from what I've seen. Not only that, but the people who are inside, you know, they're telling the stories of these celebrities. Celebrity participants in rehab get a different deal, also, because there are folks in there who are selling their stories to whoever it is, getting a tip there and a tip there. And they don't get a chance to actually go away and get better." Baldwin also blasts Lohan for wearing an alcohol detection ankle bracelet in nightclubs after leaving rehab: "I think that probably the reason why she wore them is because she was trying to send some message out there that look, 'I'm clean and I'm doing what I need to do.' From what I understand about that device was she was wearing that so that if she was shot by the paparazzi and seen out in the club scene and stuff, she could prove that she wasn't drinking." "Well, the problem is, I'm not going to get sober in a crack house. So, you know, whether or not you have that device on or not, she's putting herself in and around those slippery places, slippery people and slippery things that are going to cause that relapse. It's time to make some life changes and lifestyle changes." See more Daniel Baldwin Lindsay Lohan Britney Spears |
Divorce Finalized
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will officially divorce today. Spears' lawyer, Laura Wasser, and Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, went to court with the final papers to get a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to sign-off on the settlement, making the divorce final. Wasser will make a motion to keep the custody and spousal support orders secret. Federline is reportedly receiving $15,000 a month from Spears for child support. He's also reportedly getting $20,000 a month in spousal support, but that's based on the prenup, and it appears the alimony payments will come to an end in November. As for custody arrangement for the couple's two sons, it will stay at 50/50. Neither Spears nor Federline are happy with the custody arrangement, and either of them can go back to court and ask for a change. Federline won't even speak to Spears, so they will probably be back in court asking the judge to make decisions about child rearing. There are reports that Federline may go to court soon to get full custody. Sources say he has signed-off on the 50/50 custody split. He may not be happy, but it doesn't seem he's ready for all-out war either. See more Kevin Federline Britney Spears |
Garrison's Evaluation
Lane Garrison, who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving in a crash that killed a teenage passenger, was ordered to undergo a 90-day evaluation to help a judge decide his sentence. Garrison will undergo a "diagnostic" by parole officers and psychologists in prison before returning for an Oct. 31 appearance before Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox. Garrison was driving a 2001 Land Rover on Dec. 2 when he lost control and rammed a tree. The crash killed Vahagn Setian, a Beverly Hills High School student. Two other passengers, both 15-year-old girls, survived. They testified at the sentencing hearing. Garrison had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit and was under the influence of cocaine, according to the police report. Garrison pleaded guilty in May to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher, and a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to a minor. Garrison faces a maximum sentence of six years, eight months in prison. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office has asked for a sentence of four years and eight months. Garrison had been free on $100,000 bail but was taken into custody after the hearing. See more Lane Garrison |
Paternity Battle Not Over
Kali Bowyer, the Woman alleging comic Chris Rock is the father of her teenage son is refusing to give up her paternity fight, despite a negative first DNA test. Rock and his wife Malaak released a statement, proclaiming victory in the legal battle and criticizing Bowyer for claiming Rock was the father. But Bower insists the proceedings are far from over. Bowyer says, "We are taking a second test, due to Rock's history of past paternity tests." Bowyer claims she is one of a handful of women who have brought paternity cases against Rock, and one European woman is still charging him with fathering her child, even though she lost her case in court. Bowyer also denies claims Rock made in his statement that she took money for selling her story to the tabloids earlier this year. She says, "No one made money from selling stories to the tabloids." Bowyer is upset that Rock and his wife went public with the findings of the first DNA test while there was a court order in place instructing both parties not to discuss the case with the media. Bowyer says, "There is a protective order regarding the results, so I will let my lawyers deal with the current situation. As for the second DNA test, Chris, myself and our lawyers have to meet for mediation within 20 days. If he agrees to take the DNA test then, I see him do it and it comes back negative, I'll move on." Bowyer claims she never planned to go public with her 10-year-old paternity battle but is desperate to get to the bottom of her 13-year-old son's health problems and feels sure the medical history of the boy's father will help her to get the answers she needs. She says, "I never said Chris Rock is 100 per cent the father of my child, but, due to the dates and the information I received from doctors when my son was born, I'm 99 per cent sure Chris Rock is the father. He looks exactly like Chris' brother Tony, it's a very distinctive resemblance." See more Chris Rock |
Case Closed
A Mexican judge has ruled to close the criminal case against bounty hunter and TV reality star Duane 'Dog' Chapman, but state prosecutors have appealed the decision, officials said. In the ruling, Judge Jose Alberto Montes said the statute of limitations has expired on the case, said Guillermo Diaz, assistant prosecutor in Puerto Vallarta. Chapman was arrested by U.S. authorities on a Mexican warrant stemming from his 2003 capture of fugitive convicted rapist and Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico. State prosecutors want to continue pursuing Mexico's request to have Chapman extradited, Diaz said. The courts are expected to rule on prosecutors' appeal in coming months. Chapman, who stars in the A&E television Hawaii-based show 'Dog the Bounty Hunter,' expressed relief at Montes' decision. "The weight has been lifted off my chest," he said. "Viva la Mexico!" See more Duane 'Dog' Chapman |

Owen Wilson has released a statement asking for privacy after he was hospitalized Sunday. Wilson was taken by ambulance from his home in Santa Monica, California to the emergency room at Los Angeles' St. John's Hospital at midday on Sunday. The Santa Monica Police issued a statement: "On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department. Citing medical privacy laws, they would not release any additional information, nor would they comment on why Wilson was transported. Tabloids are reporting that Wilson tried to kill himself. He says, "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." His family was seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Wilson was reportedly transfered to, on Sunday night. A hospital spokesman reports Wilson is in a "good condition." See more Owen Wilson |

Snoop Reality Show
Tom Sizemore says an attack on former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss never happened and he is trying to overturn his 2003 misdemeanor corporal injury conviction for the assault. At a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court, plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Cardenas, testified that he didn't see bruises on the face of Sizemore's former girlfriend and former Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss, days after she claimed he punched her in the jaw at a Beverly Hills hotel. "There was no sign of any trauma, bruising or anything like that?" Fay Arfa, Sizemore's attorney, asked Dr.Cardenas. "I did not notice anything like that," said Cardenas, who said he had a conversation with Sizemore and Fleiss around 2 a.m. April 13, 2003, about Five days after the assault. Cardenas said he was called to treat Sizemore for a cut and was introduced to Fleiss. The three had a brief conversation after he was done treating Sizemore, he said. "You saw their interaction together and it seemed like they were getting along?" Arfa asked him. "Yes," Cardenas said. Deputy District Attorney Robert Cha said metabolism or treatment might have reduced Fleiss' swollen face by the time the doctor saw her. He also suggested Fleiss might have used "cover-up items" to conceal the injuries. Sizemore is currently serving a 16-month prison term for violating probation in a Los Angeles methamphetamine case and faces another six years behind bars if convicted on other drug-related charges. He did not attend the hearing. See more Tom Sizemore Heidi Fleiss |

Dourdan Attacks
Rupert Everett, who is openly gay, says he is single because young gay men aren't interested in dating someone older than them. He said, "Unfortunately, I am single, yes, but I'm too exhausted for anything else and being gay is a young man's game." "No one wants me. Being gay or being a Woman have one big thing in common, which is that we both become invisible after the age of 42. Who wants a gay 50-year-old? No one let me tell you." "I could set myself on fire in a gay bar, and people would just light their cigarettes from me," he said. Everett admits he wants to grow old gracefully, but he would like to find a boyfriend first. He added: "I don't want to be carried out of a club wearing a tie-dye T-shirt and a cap on the wrong way around when I am 70, but I would like to settle down a bit, maybe with a partner. In some ways I do feel more settled, but now I want to take part in things." See more Rupert Everett |
