David Beckham Makes Debut

David Beckham made his hotly-anticipated debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in front of thousands of fans and a host of Hollywood stars. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria, and Jennifer Love Hewitt were among the sell-out crowd cheering on Beckham at the Home Depot Center Stadium. His wife Victoria was also in the stands along with the couple's three sons. Although Beckham, who has signed a multi-million dollar Five-year contract with the club, only made it onto the pitch for the final 12 minutes of the match due to an ankle injury, he received an overwhelming reception. The 27,000 fans gave him a standing ovation as he came on and cheered and applauded his every move and touch of the ball. The day after the debut, the Beckham's attended a "Welcome to Hollywood" party thrown by good friends Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes and Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The invitation-only event was held for over 600 guests at the Geffen Contemporary museum, which is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Los Angeles.
